Fumigation Volume Calculator

Using too many foggers can cause fires or illness. Use this tool to calculate safe coverage based on cubic footage, not just floor area.

Room Dimensions

Check the label. Most standard cans treat 2,000 cu ft.

Total Volume

2,400 cu.ft

Reccomended Usage

1.2
Cans Rated
for 2000 cu ft

ROUND UP: Always use full numbers. If the math says 1.2, typically use 2 cans placed at opposite ends, BUT check label rules on 'over-application'.

Why Cubic Footage Matters

Most people buy bug bombs based on square footage (floor area). However, fumigants fill the volume of the room (air space).

A room with 12ft cathedral ceilings has 50% more air volume than a standard 8ft room. If you under-dose, the bugs survive. If you over-dose, the propellant can accumulate near pilot lights (water heaters, stoves) and cause an explosion.

⚠️ Safety Checklist

  • Turn off ALL pilot lights (gas valves) before starting.
  • Unplug refrigerators and thermostats (spark risk).
  • Open all chemical-safe cupboards, drawers (bugs hide there).
  • Leave immediately and stay out for the time listed on the label (usually 4+ hours).
